quick update

I'm back in Champaign, IL and just got settled in! I moved into my new place, unpacked my keyboard, and bought household items for my studio. I'm working on keeping better track of my money and staying organized with what I have to do.

Training for Kaplan started yesterday, and my first class starts in September. It will involve lots of driving (= lots of audio books) and making sure I get plenty of sleep. I'm excited to teach high schoolers... a big change from this summer's pre-kindergarten students.

My work at Central High starts (apparently) on Tuesday. Good thing my parents opened that piece of mail! Hopefully, there's not too much catch-up work to do and we can get started right away. Junior year! It'll be wonderful to start the school year with him instead of coming in in the middle.

I'm waiting to hear back about my background check for Tutor.com and whether the Champaign School of Music wants me or not to teach Piano Prep and Beginning Group Piano.

I've got my plate full with work, but since I have the piano here and the Wii, I hope to play hard too. For example, yesterday, I went to the Farmer's Market (and bought peaches and earrings), the Downtown Arts Festival, and watched Mary Poppins at the historical Virginia Theater.

The school year awaits and everything starts again on Tuesday. I am happy to be back, but am also looking forward to going home for Thanksgiving (even though they cost a ton of money).

Breakfast calls. :)
